Ovishap is a very emotional and moral Drama. Bodi, who suddenly becomes wealthy, begins to see himself as a feudal landlord. With his newfound wealth and arrogance, he considers to try hunting—like the old King a symbol of prestige. Strangely, his idea of trying to hunt the ducks in his own pond with a gun. One day, while he is hunting, a bird lover confronts him and angrily curses him, saying, “You will become a duck.” At first, Bodi ignores the remark, but soon unusual changes begin to appear in his behaviour. Gradually, he starts believing that he is no longer a human being but a duck. His mental state deteriorates—he stops eating rice and instead wants to eat snails, behaving more and more like a duck. Bodi’s wife and her parents initially treat it as a simple mental problem and try to comfort him. A doctor is called in, who examines Bodi and gives him an injection, advising rest. But the next morning, something astonishing happens. At dawn, Bodi’s wife wakes up and discovers that in Bodi’s place on the bed sits a living duck. Has Bodi truly turned into a duck because of the curse, or is there another mystery behind it? The story unfolds around this question, blending humour and tragedy while revealing the consequences of human greed, arrogance, and absurdity.
